The Headwater Equipment Welding Bay
Currently Headwater Equipment employs 4 journeymen welders and 2 apprentices. Our welding area is 3500 square feet and equipped with one 20 Ton overhead crane. As well in this bay we have our plasma cutting table, hydraulic press, along with our welding units. This area gives us capacity to have several projects on the go at one time, and allows for the smooth flow of custom jobs.
At Headwater our journeyman welding staff has a wealth of experience in various areas of the trade. We have developed great skill in fabricating cabs for machinery, custom attachments, brush guarding packages and rebuilding mining equipment. Some of our current and past jobs include:
- Caterpillar D11R Reclamation Dozer Blade - Complete rebuild and re-skinning of D11R dozer blade.
- Custom Built Telehandler Cabs - Our custom built cabs for Caterpillar, Lull, Gradall and Skytrak telehandlers are built to factory spec.
- Bush Guarding Packages - Fabricating and installing bush guarding packages on Caterpillar D6N, D7Rs and D8N crawler tractors
Looking to the future we expect the number of welders we employ to rise as we are currently working on constructing a new larger, state of the art welding shop. Our new shop will have 34’ High by 26’ Wide doors and be just under 10,500 square feet. This shop will be designed to handle some of our larger heavy equipment projects such as rock truck boxes, loader and shovel buckets, and dozer blades.
